Artists in residence

Page history last edited by PBworks 16 years, 3 months ago
SCEPTrE believes that we need to make our processes for professional learning as rich and immersive as possible and we can make them richer and more meaningful if we involve talented artists in the process. Our immersive experience knowledge building process involves five creative people.

Patrick Sanders is our graphic artist in residence for the Immersive Experience project and our WiKi. His talents as a real-time illustrator will help us visualise our thoughts in interesting ways and enrich our learning process. Patrick is an arts worker based in Belfast. His training was in Devised Theatre, and his work in the field of drama includes as a performer, director and workshop facilitator. He is also member of Playback Belfast, using improvised drama and music to re-tell personal stories. As an illustrator he specialises in using cartoons to document events and processes. This year he was involved in Outburst, Ireland's first multi-disciplinary queer arts festival.

Will Paterson (left) and Ben Mercer are two film makers working with the SCEPTrE team. In this instance they are especially interested in finding new ways to communicate rich experiences online through the use of media. They will be filming the conference, the intent being to produce a narrative film of the event as well as adding as much media content as they can to various parts of the wiki in an effort to give those visiting the site a real sense of what was going on. If you see them wandering around with a camera and would like to contribute a video or sound clip, pull them aside.

sensations of immersion through her playful encouragements.

Sadly Kai will not be joining us because of illness

Kai Jansen is a talented musician, singer/song writer/poet and he is helping SCEPTrE explore the fuzy concept of learning for a complex world through the eyes of a musician and musical experiences. Kai has generously accepted the challenge of trying to create a song about the meaning of immersive experience which he will develop during the conference and perform as the closing symbolic act of the conference. You can hear Kai perfroming on his website.http://www.kaijansen.com/
